THE CRUISE BRIEF
Terms

The terms we publish on

The Cruise Brief is a free daily news channel published by Cruises with Friends. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay. These are the terms on which it is offered.

What this is

Journalism about the cruise industry: what has been announced, what has changed, and what it means if you have a booking. Every story names its outlet on screen and links it in the description, so you can check any claim without taking our word for it.

What it is not

It is not advice. Nothing here is financial, legal, travel or booking advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy or cancel anything. Fares, itineraries and port rules change constantly and often at short notice — before acting on something you heard here, check it with your cruise line or travel agent. Decisions you make are your own.

Accuracy, and when we get it wrong

We take accuracy seriously and we say where each story came from. We do not guarantee that everything is correct or current: we report what outlets have published, and they are sometimes wrong too. Where a single outlet is the only source, we say so on screen and word it as reported rather than confirmed.

When we get something wrong, we correct it on air in the following bulletin and publish the correction alongside the original edition. We do not quietly edit the record. That process is described on the editorial policy page.

An AI presenter

The Brief is read by April, a synthetic presenter. She is not a real person and does not have opinions. Every script is written, sourced and edited by a human being before it airs, and a person reviews each bulletin before it is published. We state this on the channel, in video descriptions and here, because a viewer should never be misled about what they are watching.

Using our material

The scripts, video, audio, transcripts and artwork on this site belong to Cruises with Friends unless stated otherwise. You may link to us freely, and quote us for reporting, comment, criticism or review with attribution to The Cruise Brief. Re-uploading our videos, or republishing a transcript or bulletin in full, needs our permission first.

Headlines, quotations and figures attributed to other outlets remain theirs. Where we credit an outlet, follow the link and read them.

Other people's platforms

We publish to YouTube and elsewhere, and this site embeds and links to those services. What happens on them is governed by their terms, not ours — including the YouTube Terms of Service. Links to other sites are not endorsements of them.

Commercial relationship

Mia Cruise, an associated travel agency, sells cruises from lines we cover. Editorial decisions are made independently of that relationship, and we say so in a story when it touches one of them. The full disclosure is on the editorial policy page.

Availability and liability

The Brief is published every weekday, but we do not guarantee that the site, the feed or any edition will always be available or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on anything published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

These terms may change as what we do changes. The current version is always the one on this page.

Written to be read, not to be impenetrable. This page describes how we actually operate and is not legal advice. If you need a formal agreement with us, ask and we will put one in place.
